Mums and Bubs Exercise Classes

NQPC now offers “Mums and Bubs” Exercises classes for new mums to bring their babies to class with them.

We understand that in the early stages post-natal it can be difficult juggling child care and your own exercise and health needs.  During the class, you can stop exercising at any time to feed or comfort your baby, re-joining the class when you feel comfortable.  However, this is a crucial time to strengthen and get back into shape to help you cope with the demands of a new baby and prevent pain and injury.

Mums and Bubs Exercise Classes include a series of predominantly mat-based exercises aimed primarily at improving core strength following childbirth. The exercises incorporate:

Strengthening (abdominal, pelvic floor, lumbo-pelvic, upper body) Low impact cardiovascular conditioning Mobility & gentle stretching Equipment (resistance band, exercise ring, roller, ball, reformer)

How soon can I start classes?

You need to have a signed medical clearance form from your treating Medical Practitioner at your six week review before you can start the class.

Mums and Bubs Exercise class times

  • Tuesday 10:00am – 11:00am
  • Thursday 10:00am – 11:00am

If the above times are not suitable, we will do our best to work with you to find a time that suits you and your baby’s need.  Sessions are individualised, and class sizes are restricted, to enable a safe exercise environment and to allow your Physiotherapist to modify exercises as appropriate to you.

Mums and Bubs Exercise Classes are a safe and social way to return to activity after childbirth.  We look forward to having you join our classes.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us on 07 4799 6597.
